Builder Network Community Terms

These Community Terms ("Terms") govern your application to, and participation in, the Builder Network by Scout House (the "Builder Network"), including the website located at http://builders.scouthouse.com/] and the associated Discord community and any related community spaces (together, the "Community").

By applying for or accepting membership in the Builder Network, you agree to these Terms.

‍Relationship to Our Other Policies

‍These Terms supplement, and are in addition to, Scout House's general [Terms of Service](https://www.scouthouse.com/legal/terms-of-service), [Privacy Policy](https://www.scouthouse.com/legal/privacy-policy), and [Acceptable Use Policy](https://www.scouthouse.com/legal/acceptable-use), each of which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. For the Builder Network specifically, these Terms control to the extent of any conflict between them and the general Terms of Service.

‍Eligibility

‍Membership in the Builder Network is open to individuals who are at least 18 years old. By applying for or accepting membership, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age. The Builder Network is not directed to, and may not be used by, anyone under 18.

‍Membership

‍Membership in the Builder Network is free and is offered at Scout House's sole discretion. We may accept or decline any application, and we may suspend or revoke membership at any time, with or without notice and with or without cause. Membership is personal to you and may not be transferred or shared.

Membership does not create any employment, agency, partnership, or joint-venture relationship between you and Scout House, and does not entitle you to any payment, work, project, platform access, hardware, or other benefit unless separately agreed in writing.

‍Community Conduct
‍‍

As a member, you agree to follow our Community Code of Conduct (posted within the Discord community) and to interact respectfully and lawfully. Among other things, you agree not to:

- harass, threaten, demean, or discriminate against any person, or engage in hate speech
- post or share content that is unlawful, obscene, defamatory, or infringes the intellectual property or other rights of any third party
- send spam, unsolicited promotions, or unsolicited direct messages to other members
- share other members' personal information, or content from private community channels, without permission
- impersonate Scout House or misrepresent your affiliation with us- disrupt, abuse, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Community or its systems

We may remove content, issue warnings, and suspend or remove members for any conduct we consider inconsistent with these Terms or the spirit of the Community.

‍Your Content and Featuring Your Work

‍You retain all ownership rights in the content, projects, and materials you create and share in the Community ("Member Content").

By posting Member Content within the Community (including in Discord), you grant Scout House a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and reproduce that content solely as necessary to operate and administer the Builder Network and its community spaces. This operational license is limited to running the Community.

This license does *not* permit Scout House to feature, republish, or use your work in external marketing, social media, member spotlights, or other public-facing materials. Before using your Member Content in any external or promotional context, we will ask for your permission, and you are free to decline. Any such use will be on terms we agree with you at that time.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to any content you share, and that sharing it does not violate the rights of any third party.

‍Third-Party Platforms

‍The Builder Network community is hosted on Discord. Your use of Discord is subject to Discord's own Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, and Privacy Policy. Scout House does not control and is not responsible for Discord or any other third-party platform, and your relationship with those platforms is between you and them.

‍Disclaimers
‍

‍The Builder Network and the Community are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Scout House makes no warranties of any kind regarding the Community and disclaims all implied warranties. We do not guarantee the conduct of any member or the accuracy, quality, or usefulness of any content shared in the Community. The limitations of liability set out in our general Terms of Service apply to your participation in the Builder Network.

‍Termination
‍

‍You may leave the Builder Network at any time by leaving the Community and notifying us. We may suspend or terminate your membership and access to the Community at any time, with or without notice, for any breach of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. Sections relating to Member Content, disclaimers, and governing law survive termination.

‍Changes to These Terms
‍

‍We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above and post the revised Terms here. Your continued participation in the Builder Network after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

‍Governing Law
‍

‍These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, consistent with our general Terms of Service, and you submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in California.
